I just wanted to see what other options are available since the battery is hard to access and I don't want to void any warranty by mistake. I know the most common solution is to "Remove the power cord and battery, then hold the power button down for 30 seconds, then put battery back in and power cord, then power on". I have tried these with and without my power cord plugged in. Pressing keys on the keyboard does nothing as well. Holding the power button down for >1 minute does nothing at all, the power light continues to blink white. When I press the power button once, nothing happens at all, the screen doesn't turn on, and I don't hear any sounds from the laptop. I do not believe the battery has any problems as I was using the laptop very recently with and without the power cord, and had no problems whatsoever. To access the battery, one has to remove 11 small screws, then pop the back off, and even then the battery itself is screwed into the unit. This laptop type has the battery sealed away and not immediately accessible. No other lights are on including the battery indicator light next to it.
The power button LED light is blinking white on and off at about 1 second intervals. There isn't anything about disabling the built in mouse in the advanced options and Device Usage is "greyed out".I have a Lenovo Edge 15 laptop, but it won't turn on. In this new window that comes up, at the bottom is a drop-down menu titled "Device Usage", you can disable it there.Īlternatively if you install whatever drivers/control center from IBM, there should be advanced options for the trackpad and nub in the control panel. In the Device Manager, right-click on the mouse, select properties. I'm not exactly sure what you're asking or telling me. I have four options when I right-click on the device. How can you uninstall it? If its through Device Manager, you should be able to disable the device. I can uninstall it, but it just reinstalls it every time I reboot. Unfortunately it doesn't give the option.
It also has two sets of mouse buttons for whichever you are using and I can disable those as well. My laptop has a touchpad and a nub and I can choose to disable one or both. Check the mouse properties in control panel.
